We are big fans of Chef Rick Martinez here at Luchito, and when we saw his recipe for Thanksgiving “Pavo al Pastor” we couldn’t try it, especially because he incorporates chipotle into his adobo sauce. We immediately got inspired and thought that Gran Luchito Chipotle Paste would be perfect for this job!
If you’re not sure what we’re talking about we’ll give you a little thought. What’s not to love about having roast turkey breast covered with a delicious al pastor marinade, served with warm Gran Luchito Soft Taco Wraps and grilled pineapple. Sounds good, right?
And for those of you who have never had “tacos al pastor” here is a little explanation. Tacos al pastor is a famous street food dish originally from Mexico City, where spit-roasted pork is marinated with a blend of spices, Mexican chillies, achiote paste and pineapple juice. This al pastor recipe is then served over warm tortillas and slices of roasted pineapple, and is seriously delicious!
We think this turkey breast recipe is perfect if you’re hosting any parties during the holiday season, or for those more adventurous cooks that are not afraid to try something slightly different.
Prepare a turkey breast, a crown or a whole turkey depending on how many people you’re feeding. Just make sure to make enough adobo, and serve it with warm Soft Tacos.
Don’t forget to marinate your turkey breast for a good amount of time in order to get even more flavour into your meat, making it into a Mexican turkey! Overnight usually does the trick.
We suggest serving this roast turkey breast recipe with Gran Luchito Crunchy Salsa Macha and Gran Luchito Jalapeño and Pineapple. You can have both at the table for your guests to try and have fun making their turkey tacos.

Serve your Roast Turkey Breasts with classic sides with a Mexican twist:
Adobo is a tangy, slightly sweet, Mexican red sauce often comprised of tomatoes, garlic, vinegar, and spices.
The Spanish phrase al pastor roughly translates to shepherd style in English. This style refers to roasting meat (usually pork) on a vertical spit. The iconic vertical spit houses a conelike stack of marinated meat, called shawarma, which originates from the Eastern hemisphere.
Overall, turkey contains fewer calories and moderately more protein than chicken, except for the chicken breast, which has more protein per serving size of 3 ounces. Turkey also has less cholesterol, less sodium and more iron.
